Commandments 5-10

Commandments 5-10
Wednesday, March 19th & Sunday, March 23rd

Key Passage: Exodus 20: 12-17

Basic Truth: No one can measure up to God's standard of holiness

Memory Verse: "Everyone has turned away, they have together become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one." Psalm 53:3

Think about it:

“If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.”
(1 John 1:8)

…Spend some time asking God to search your heart and show you what He sees.

Pray that God’s Law will do its work of showing your students how desperately they need a Savior.

Ask it:

All Levels
Q: What does God say about all people?
A: Everyone has sinned.

Grade 1-2
Q: Why can there never be anyone else who is able to be God?
A: No one else can measure up to God's standard of holiness. God is greater than anything that exists and the only One worthy to be God!

Grade 3-4
Q: Why can we never meet God's standard?
A: God's Law defines holiness. We can never hope to be accepted based on the requirements of the Law. We are helpless without a Savior.

Grade 5-6
Q: What keeps us from meeting God's standard?
A: Our sinful inclinations make it impossible to obey God's holy Law.

Family Activities:
1) Talk about and imagine how life would be if there were no sin in our world!
2) Review the 10 commandments together in a fun way, like charades or a memory game
