Calling the Disciples: Lesson 7
Wednesday, October 22nd & Sunday, October 26th

Key Passages: John 1:35-51 and Luke 5:1-11; 6:12-16

Basic Truth: God reveals Himself to mankind because of His grace.

Memory Verse: (But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God), that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. (Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.) 1 Peter 2:9-10

Discussion Questions

All Levels
Q: Why is it so special to know we have ben chosen by God?
A: We don't deserve to be His people, but God will continue to claim us as HIs own because He chooses to do so!

Grade 1-2
Q: How does Jesus teach us about God? 
A: Jesus shows us what God is like by everything that He said or did, because Jesus is God. 

Grade 3-4
Q: Why does God reveal Himself to people? 
A: God wants a special relationship with mankind, even though we are all sinners and deserve God's wrath. 
Grade 5-6
Q: What does it mean to be a disciple of Jesus? 
A: Jesus' disciples are called to be loyal followers, committed to learning and obeying His teachings. 

Family Activities:
1) If you could be a disciple of anyone on earth, whom would you choose? What would you want to learn? How would it change your life? 
2) If someone in your family has been an apprentice, share what it was like. How is being an apprentice for a job similar to being a disciple of Jesus?
