Q: What does it mean to be blessed by God? 

A: To be blessed by God means to receive His favor. God will give us what is best.

Grade 1-2

Q: Why did Jesus heal so many people? 

A: Jesus wanted people to know that God is able to help and God wants to help.

Grade 3-4

Q: What is faith? 

A: Faith is a response of confidence in who God is and what God does. Faith is believing that God does what is best -- even when it's hard -- even when it's not what we want. 

Grade 5-6

Q: Why does faith please GOd? 

A: Faith causes us to seek God and puts us in a right relationship with Him as we choose to acknowledge that He is God and we need Him. Faith connects us to God's power and blessing. 

Family Activities:

1) Share an experience when you trusted someone or something that was not reliable. 

2) Make a list of blessings. Can you think of a "bad" thing that ended up to be a blessing?

Basic Truth: God is able to repair what sin has destroyed.

Memory Verse: He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!" Then he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true."

Discussion Questions:

Q: Why is God able to promise these things? 

A: God created a world without sin the first time. He is able to conquer all sin and make a perfect world again. 

Grade 1-2

Q: Why does everything need to be made new? 

A: Sin has caused great destruction in this world, but God can repair all that sin has destroyed. 

Grade 3-4

Q: Why does God repair the damage caused by sin? 

A: In spite of our sin, God still wants a relationship with mankind. His love and grace are unending.

Grade 5-6

Q: What hope does God offer for the problems of this life? 

A: All trouble in this world is the consequence of sin. God is the only One who has power to forgive sins and reverse the consequences. 

Family Activities:

1) Look at the headlines in the newspaper. Find examples of the destruction of sin. Praise God for His power and His promise to make "everything new"!

2) What "headlines" would describe recent happenings in your home? Is there evidence of sin? Is there evidence of God's power?

Basic Truth: Eternal life is a gift from God.

Memory Verse: For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. John 3:16

Q: What is eternal life? 

A: Eternal life means having a correct relationship--fellowship--with God now and forever!

Grade 1-2

Q: Why does eternal life have to come from God? 

A: All people are sinners. Only God can take away our sin and make us acceptable to live with Him. 

Grade 3-4

Q: How do we get eternal life? 

A: God gives eternal life as a gift to anyone who has faith in Jesus as the only way to be saved. 

Grade 5-6

Q: How can we be sure we have eternal life? 

A: Eternal life doesn't depend on what we do--it's a gift that God promised to give to all who believe in Jesus. We see evidence of eternal life in a life of love and obedience to God. 

Family Activities:

1) Let anyone in your family who has been Born Again retell the story of how they received Jesus as their Savior. 

2) Look at a photo album or home video to see how we've grown physically. How are you growing up spiritually?
